Running time: 50 mins
Following on from the hugely successful Aesop’s Fables (2023), Legends (2024) and The Wizarding Wonderer (2025); this year the Level 2 and Year 1 UAL Performing and Production Arts students and staff of The Guernsey Institute, in association with Art for Guernsey, have created a brand new children’s theatre production, titled ‘INTO THE RENOIR’. A group of Year 6 students visit the Art for Guernsey Renoir exhibit to explore and learn about Pierre-Auguste Renoir’s time on the island. But when the cheekiest members of the class, Paulette and Shari, get a little too curious, magic happens—they’re suddenly transported back to September 4th, 1883, the day Renoir arrived in Guernsey, struggling with a creative crisis! Full of energy, humour, and fascinating facts, this lively tale has been devised and written in-house, and kindly supported by Art for Guernsey. The show also forms an essential part of our students’ vocational Performing Arts training, supporting both their creative development and assessment.
