‘Evita’ is the story of Eva Peron, whose husband, Juan Peron, became the President of Argentina in 1946. Rising from humble beginnings, Eva worked her way from a life of hardship in the suburbs to radio star, to actress, to the First Lady of Argentina. ‘Evita’ celebrates this complex character who is both desperate to help the working classes of Argentina while, as Che (who is at once both commentator on and participant in the play) says, ‘creaming a little off the top for expenses, wouldn’t you?’
With a strong ensemble cast and show-stopping numbers such as ‘And The Money Kept Rolling In and out’ and ‘Don’t Cry For Me Argentina’, this production is sure to be a fantastic evening’s entertainment, and a wonderful celebration of some of the finest young talent on the island.
