Guernsey, Guernesey, Garnsai, Sarnia: so they say. Well, I don’t know, I’m sure.’
In 1960s Guernsey, an elderly man called Ebenezer is living alone in a little house by the sea and writing a book on his long life. After the panes of glass in his greenhouse are unexpectedly smashed, Ebenezer finds himself forming an unlikely friendship with a young artist. As old memories begin to flood back as quickly as the rising tide, Ebenezer finds himself beginning to rethink his past.
Adapted and produced by Jules Upson and co-directed by Jules Upson and Benjamin Lewis, this graduate film is the first successful film adaptation of Guernsey’s treasured novel The Book of Ebenezer Le Page, by G. B. Edwards.
